The Next Impact Learning Hub Expert Council brings together a select group of global practitioners with deep experience across sustainability, global policy, and international development.
Drawing on backgrounds from organisations such as the United Nations, the World Bank, and leading global partnerships, the Council provides strategic insight and real-world perspectives that inform the design of our programmes and learning experiences.
Through this platform, we aim to bridge global expertise with the next generation of leaders, translating complex systems into accessible, applied learning.

Daud Khan
Seasoned Advisor to various UN agencies & national governments| Selector for “Rise for the World” Scholarship | Columnist of public insights
Daud Khan has over 40 years of experience in international development with a focus on agriculture, rural development and food security. He has held senior positions at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and has been consultant and policy advisor to the World Bank, the World Food Programme (WFP), the Asian Development Bank, the European Union, the International Atomic Energy Agency, to private commercial agriculture enterprises, and to the Government of Sindh (in Pakistan). He has led and managed teams dealing with the preparation, appraisal and evaluation of agricultural projects, programmes and policies, and with post-disaster assessments across Asia, Africa, and Europe.
He has a strong academic background and having studied at the London School of Economics (LSE), the University of Oxford where he was a Rhodes Scholar, and at the Imperial College of Science and Technology. He combines deep academic expertise in economics and environmental management with a proven ability to translate this into on-the-ground action.
Beyond his professional career, Daud is deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of leaders. He has served as a selector for the Rhodes Scholarship, as well as for the “Rise for the World” scholarship (a training, funding and mentorship network created by Eric and Wendy Schmidt’s Schmidt Futures initiative for outstanding youth aged 15 to 17). He also mentors students at the LSE, where he previously served as the General Secretary of the Students’ Union. Additionally, he is a columnist for The Express Tribune, one of South Asia’s most influential English-language newspapers, where he translates complex national and global issues into accessible insights for the public.

Mads Lofvall
Former Senior Official at WFP | Former Managing Director at Farm to Market Alliance | Field Expert
With more than three decades of experience in international development and humanitarian assistance, Mads Lofvall is a senior leader known for turning strategic vision into tangible, field-level results. Over a + 25 year career with the World Food Programme (WFP), he held a range of senior leadership roles, including Country Director assignments and global change leadership functions. His expertise encompasses food security programming, cash-based transfer systems, and the design of effective public–private partnerships across East and Southern Africa.
He most recently served as Managing Director of the Farm to Market Alliance (FtMA) – a global consortium of six public and private organizations, each of which brings specific expertise, experience and assets, where he led efforts to strengthen agricultural value chains by improving smallholder farmers’ access to markets, finance, and inputs. His work reflects a strong commitment to commercially viable, scalable solutions that bridge humanitarian and development objectives, grounded in a practical understanding of market systems and sustainability.
